A workshop, led by Dr. Jay McDaniel, was held on September 16 at the Ecumenical Buddhist Society in Little Rock. The workshop used as a springboard for discussion Paul Knitter’s book, “Without Buddha I Could Not be a Christian”.

Humanistic Islam for the 21st Century

On September 30 a worskop on the philosophy of Muhammad Iqbal, the spiritual father of modern Pakistan and author of The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam, was held at the Medina Institute and Mosque in Little Rock, AR.  Farhan Shah, an expert on Iqbal, led the workshop by Skype from Norway.

Worldview Wednesdays

A weekly exploration – in September and October at Panera from 4-5 pm – of worldviews that encourage the creation of societies and communities that are creative, compassionate, just, participatory, enriched by diversity, humane to animals, and ecologically wise — with no one left behind.  They help us approximate Jane Goodall’s Prayer for Peace. We call them “open and relational worldviews.
